About PHMSA Pipeline Safety & County Mileage

Federal pipeline safety records from the National Pipeline Mapping System and the pipeline enforcement docket, covering 3,227 counties of mileage by commodity, 126 counties with an active liquefied natural gas plant, 32,892 mapped transmission centerlines, and 5,073 enforcement cases against 778 operators since 2002. It answers what runs through a parcel county, who operates it, and what that operator record looks like before a purchase or a siting decision. County mileage describes a county and never a parcel, and mapped centerlines are reference geometry rather than a located line. Pipeline incidents and accidents are not here: the agency publishes them only on hosts that refuse a server request or sit behind a login, and this source states that absence instead of approximating it. None of this substitutes for calling 811 before any digging.
