About US Wind & Solar Farms

Screen a state or map area for existing utility-scale solar and wind. Solar records can include facility name, AC and DC capacity, battery storage, tracking type, and year online. Wind records can include turbine location, project name, manufacturer, model, hub height, rotor diameter, and project capacity. Both databases are public-domain USGS releases; USGS publishes the wind data quarterly and the solar data annually, and releases lag installation. Wind rows are individual turbines, so one project returns many rows. Small residential turbines and rooftop solar are out of scope. These are built assets, not evidence that land is for sale, leased, permitted, or able to connect to the grid.
